Traditional animal vaccine adjuvants are mostly water-in-oil (W/O) adjuvants, which can induce higher antibody titers but have poor stability, resulting in oil-water phase separation.
When the viscosity is too high, injection becomes much more difficult, potentially causing subcutaneous tissue lesions in vaccinated animals and raising safety concerns, particularly for animals of high economic value and companion animals.
